Julian Boyd claims ASEAN League weekly honour

American Julian Boyd (201-F-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for Zhuhai and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 29-year old forward had a double-double of 38 points and seventeen rebounds, while his team was edged out by Alab Pilipinas (#4, 1-1) 114-110. Zhuhai moved-up to the 10th position in ASEAN League. The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 2 games and had no victories. In the team's last game Boyd had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Zhuhai's top player in his first season with the team. Long Island University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Boyd is in league's top in points (2nd best: 29.5ppg), rebounds (4th best: 12.0rpg) and averages solid 65.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old American point guard Trey Kell (193-PG-96, agency: Slash Sports) of Hong Kong ELL. Kell impressed basketball fans with 37 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Hong Kong ELL lost that game 89-102 to Fubon Braves (3-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Kell is a newcomer at Hong Kong ELL and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 34.0ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 8.5rpg and 4.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Michael Singletary (198-F-88) of top-ranked Mono Vampire. Singletary showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and eight assists in the last round. He was a key player of Mono Vampire, leading his team to a 79-73 win against WM Dragons (#5, 1-1). Mono Vampire started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Singletary turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Singletary has a great season in ASEAN League. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.0ppg (6th best), rebounds with 10.7rpg (6th best) and assists with 5.3apg (7th best). Singletary attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
